This is the day- by: Tim Tebow day 2

Three Words for Today
Life is a gift. Each day is precious—and at times fleeting. We can’t control the path or the magnitude of whatever storms or disasters come our way. We can’t anticipate our losses. And we can’t hold on to the promise of tomorrow.
So what’s something we can do? We can this day celebrate the ones we love. We can create special moments with them. We can say “I love you.”
A few years ago, I wrote down five life goals:
  • Show Jesus.
  • Fight for those who can’t fight for themselves.
  • Take care of the people I love with resources, finances, and blessings.
  • Be a protector of people.
  • Pursue my dreams.
For me, part of what it means to take care of the people I love is to make memories with my family. This really started to hit home recently, especially with my parents getting older. I began to realize that I wasn’t going to have them around forever.
I’ve always appreciated my family, but I was awakening to how truly precious it is to spend time with Mom and Dad, as well as my siblings and my nieces and nephews. Thing is, unless I strove to make it happen, it wouldn’t. Because let’s be real: life always gets in the way. They’re busy. I’m busy. We’re all busy, right?
People matter more than schedules, more than lists, and more than tasks. We know this, but what does it really mean? How do we live this out? Showing love to others may mean a simple shift of your priorities.
Think about what matters most. Choose the more important things over the lesser ones. Balance busy calendars with meaningful moments. Call a friend and let him know you’re thinking about him. Unplug the phones, gadgets, and devices, and be more present with a spouse, parent, or child.
Tomorrow is not promised. Make time and show someone you care. Tell a loved one that you are grateful for his support. Encourage a sibling to chase after the dream she’s put on the back burner. Say yes to making memories, even if it means rearranging a carefully planned morning. And whether in word or deed, always choose to say “I love you.”
What is one way you can show someone love today, even if it means making a sacrifice of time?

Starting to blog again......

so it's been 2 years since I last blogged... wow! I guess life kinda of  took off and before you know it it's been two years!

I miss blogging, so I've decided to try and blog as much as I can... things are crazy right now but when is it not!

So short update with more to come (hopefully!). My dad broke his foot...I guess it's been about a month ago now, so we've been really busy with doctors appointments, and making sure he has meds and everything else that goes with it. I feel so bad for him he's been in so much pain with his foot plus the stuff he deals with on a daily basis. The surgeon for his foot said he has 4! Fractures in his foot, and he has to have surgery but he has to be medically cleared before we can do that because of all his other complicated health problems. So we go this week to his medical doctor and if she gives us the green light then we will go to a cardiologist, and a pulmonologist, then maybe have surgery.
Yeah, I know it's a lot to keep up with.... trust me I get confused sometimes too.

Anyway so we have thAt plus my grandmas surgery that has to be planned and what seems like a million other things going on. But in the midst of this I know God has a plan for all of this..... even when we don't understand I've had to trust Him that He know what He's doing and that He will continue to guide us. It's not easy, especially when your up all night doing the medicine and making sure their comfortable and can rest a little.... then get up for work the next day and run errands and call doctors, it gets tiring. But, God has given me strength and a peace that doesn't make sense... and THATS what keeps me going despite all that.

And don't get me wrong it's a pleasure and honor taking care of my parents... I love them and would doing anything and everything for them. But I am human and God knows that, which is why He gives the strength And grace to make it through each day.
I couldn't make it without God, in spite of everything happening He's turned it around to bless us and give him glory and that's all that matters.

So that's just a little bit of what's going on..... I'll hopefully be posting more soon.
I posted a devotional by Tim Tebow down below that fits perfectly with what's going on.

Despite the injurys, the sickness, the late nights of no sleep, today is the day that God has made! And we need to rejoice regardless of what's going on around us, Rejoice that we are alive and can breathe, and walk, talk, and see. God has placed many things in our life for us to be thankful for, we just have to learn to look for them.

Have you ever noticed that in the middle (which they call they eye) of the storm is calm? It's all peace ful and still.... you can't even tell that the world is falling apart. That's the kinda of peace that we have right now and I feel like that's where we are at.... in the eye of the storm Jesus is holding us steady. So the wind, rain, lightning, and thunder can roll around us but as long as we stand right in the middle we will be alright.

Alright guys I'm signing off till next time!

This is the day! By:Tim Tebow

Right Now
Imagine waking up tomorrow not slapping the snooze button but awakening—mind, heart, and soul—to possibility. Something better. Something more. She
You open your eyes, and before your feet hit the ground running, you pause. You choose not to allow what really matters to get swallowed up by the daily grind, and not to ignore what you really want out of life
When I was a kid, my mom would swing my bedroom door wide open each morning and in her sweet voice sing the song based on Psalm 118:24: “This is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.”
This is the day that God has made. This day. Right now. Whatever moment you are breathing in, God made this day. Even when times are tough, something about this day is good.
This is the day to live without fear of the unknown, without being chained by failure or what-ifs. This is the day to be willing to change, to be open, to believe, to hope. If we don’t attack each day with this intentionality, it’s almost like telling God, “Thanks, but no thanks.”
How different would your day be if you lived out the words of Psalm 118:24?
Is there something you would change?
Is there someone you would reach out to?
Is there something you would need to give?
Is there something you would need to let go of?
I’m not saying putting this into practice is easy. But each day you wake up, you have a chance to get unstuck, to step out of a comfortable routine that may be limiting your potential, and to fight for something that’s important.
This is the day you can switch off autopilot and begin living with passion.
This is the day you can overcome a bad habit or a character flaw.
This is the day that can bring you a step closer to your dreams.
This is the day you can fight for what’s right.
This is the day you can change someone’s life for the better.
Life isn’t just about one day. It’s about this day.

"This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24 HCSB
God, help me see the changes I need to make in my life, the risks I need to take, the things I need to let go. Thank you for giving each new day as a gift! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Streams in the desert: the end of our strength

The End Of Our Strength

John 20:29 KJV - Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

How strong is the snare of the things that are seen, and how necessary for God to keep us in the things that are unseen! If Peter is to walk on the water he must walk; if he is going to swim, he must swim, but he cannot do both. If the bird is going to fly it must keep away from fences and the trees, and trust to its buoyant wings. But if it tries to keep within easy reach of the ground, it will make poor work of flying.

God had to bring Abraham to the end of his own strength, and to let him see that in his own body he could do nothing. He had to consider his own body as good as dead, and then take God for the whole work; and when he looked away from himself, and trusted God alone, then he became fully persuaded that what He had promised, He was able to perform. That is what God is teaching us, and He has to keep away encouraging results until we learn to trust without them, and then He loves to make His Word real in fact as well as faith.—A. B. Simpson

I do not ask that He must prove
His Word is true to me,
And that before I can believe
He first must let me see.
It is enough for me to know
’Tis true because He says ’tis so;
On His unchanging Word I’ll stand
And trust till I can understand.

Update and rambling =)

Wow! I haven't been on here in long time! This year has been CRAZY! I'm wanting to start writing again so hopefully I'll be able to do that.

So a lot has been going on, we've had a pretty good year. It's been a tough one but a good one.
The Lord has done so much for us this year, we have seen him answer so many prayers and seen him do wonderful things.

I'm gonna start with this week. I've been trying to get a job and I have applied at several different places and never heard back. Well someone mentioned I should submit an application at chick-fil-a on 83rd&bell so I did. On Monday I went in filled one one out and gave it to a girl there, then on Tuesday evening I got a call back to come in for an interview. I was so excited that I even got a call back! I've never heard back from any of the other places I've applied at, even other chick-fil-a locations.
Anyway so I went in Thursday for the interview and it went really well, she went through several lines of questions and all that then asked if I could come back tomorrow (Friday) for another interview with the day manger. So I did and that went pretty well too, and I got the job!! I was so happy! I have to finish paperwork and everything else but I got it!!
I'm just thanking the Lord for answering my prayer, I've been praying for one and I have been perfectly fine waiting for the one he had for me.
And well this one is obviously the one he wants, because I've never heard of submitting an application and going for an interview twice! And getting hired all in one week! That just doesn't happen without God.

So that happened.... This year has been rough with my dad's health. we've gone through a lot and at times it seemed uncertain as to what would happen but, we had to keep going and keep believing that God was going to see us through and he has. And you know through all that God gave us a peace that no one can explain, my dads been out of work since earlier this year and things were uncertain but God provided everything we needed, and gave us peace and we knew we were going to be alright.
Sure the devil came in plenty of times and tried to get us down, but we've had to choose in those moments to trust God and have faith in him.
I'll be honest it's been hard, but God seen us through.
He's certainly blessed us this year. He provided a way for the girls to be in teen pact, and for us to go to youth camp, he provided a way to got to the AFHE homeschool convention, and he provided this job for me.
He's done so much and more for our family and i just wanted to stop and take the time to give him the praise he deserves.

No matter what your going through, and no matter how dark it gets if you choose to trust God and have a little faith he'll see you through. He said if we'll have the faith of a mustard seed we will se mountain be removed. I've seen some pretty big mountains be moved in my life in the last year.

Last year was a really bad year for me, I was still struggling with depression and trying to help take care of my parents and I was really struggling spiritually I'm not gonna lie. But I'm so thankful that God never gave up on me, and I had my parents and other people that God used in my life to help me through.  This year has been a much better year for me, I feel like God has helped me get past the depression and has really encouraged me spiritually, I feel like I'm beginning a new chapter in my life.
And we have got a great church that has helped me grow, I'm so thankful for Bro.Brad& Mrs.Janae they have been great leaders for our church and just what I've needed for this season of my life. And I'm thankful for everyone else in the church they have been very encouraging and have shown their support for our family.

Ok so enough of the rambling =) I'm hoping to post some picture and stuff of this year soon.
Thanks for listening to me ramble away, but hey I had a lot to catch up on ;)
I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Cracked Pots

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.
2 Corinthians 4:7

Recommended Reading
Everyone knows what it’s like to be disappointed by someone we love or admire. Our husbands, wives, children, or parents sometimes let us down. Our heroes stumble. Our leaders falter. It can devastate us and damage our relationships because we place high expectations on those we love. Sometimes we forget they are broken people just like we are.

According to 2 Corinthians 4:7, we are all earthen vessels, jugs of clay, easily chipped. The Voice translates 2 Corinthians 4:7 like this: “But this beautiful treasure (the Gospel) is contained in us—cracked pots made of earth and clay—so that the transcendent character of this power will be clearly seen as coming from God and not from us.”

God blesses us cracked pots in spite of our sinful, undeserving nature; and high on His list of blessings is forgiveness. As we look to Him alone, He gives us grace (He imparts a million blessings we don’t deserve) and mercy (He withholds a million judgments we do deserve).

If He gives grace and mercy to cracked pots like us, perhaps we need to extend the same to those we love.

Let us make sure that we are not so hard on others because if the shoe were on the other foot, we would want someone to understand our circumstances and help us to redeem ourselves.

Streams in the Desert: Believing Before Seeing

Believing Before Seeing

Josh 1:2 KJV - Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.

God here speaks in the immediate present. It is not something He is going to do, but something He does do, this moment. So faith ever speaks. So God ever gives. So He is meeting you today, in the present moment. This is the test of faith. So long as you are waiting for a thing, hoping for it, looking for it, you are not believing. It may be hope, it may be earnest desire, but it is not faith; for “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” The command in regard to believing prayer is the present tense. “When ye pray, believe that ye receive the things that ye desire, and ye shall have them.” Have we come to that moment? Have we met God in His everlasting NOW? —Joshua, by Simpson

True faith counts on God, and believes before it sees. Naturally, we want some evidence that our petition is granted before we believe; but when we walk by faith we need no other evidence than God’s Word. He has spoken, and according to our faith it shall be done unto us. We shall see because we have believed, and this faith sustains us in the most trying places, when everything around us seems to contradict God’s Word.

The Psalmist says, “I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of living” (Ps. 27:13). He did not see as yet the Lord’s answer to his prayers, but he believed to see; and this kept him from fainting.

If we have the faith that believes to see, it will keep us from growing discouraged. We shall “laugh at impossibilities,” we shall watch with delight to see how God is going to open up a path through the Red Sea when there is no human way out of our difficulty. It is just in such places of severe testing that our faith grows and strengthens.

Have you been waiting upon God, dear troubled one, during long nights and weary days, and have feared that you were forgotten? Nay, lift up your head, and begin to praise Him even now for the deliverance which is on its way to you. —Life of Praise
