Happy Thanksgiving!! I hope everyone had a good thanksgiving, I know I did. =)
We had a good day yesterday!! The girls made us a very nice thanksgiving meal, since I was sick this week I was only able to help a little bit. but they did a very good job!
You know how the holidays go, you eat and rest or play games then you eat a little more ;)
But it was nice to be able to spend the day relaxing as a family and doing our own traditions... since we were in the apartment last year we didn't get to do what we normally would for the holidays.
One of the things we do as a family every year is before we eat our meal, we go around and each person says what they are most thankful for.
So I'm going to list some things i'm thankful for this year.
First of all i'm thankful for Jesus and what he has done for me this year. The past nine months have been the most hard, difficult, and sometime dark months I have ever experienced in my walk with christ. But I have learned a lot and i've grown closer to the Lord. Had I not gone through what I did , I wouldn't have the relationship with the Lord I have or be the person I am today.
I'm also thankful for my family!! I couldn't have asked for better parents.... and I love my best friends (my sisters) they are awesome! I can talk to them, cry with them, and laugh with them and I know they are always there for me like I am for them. =)
I'm also thankful for my grandma, and great-grandma... love ya mimi & GG!!
The list could go on on.... the Lord has blessed us and we have nothing to complain about. The world may be falling apart, and everything around us may look dark. But those who are in Christ have a hope and something to look forward to.
We are not living for this world, but are living for the one to come.
I can't help but think of the ones we loved who have passed on to glory, and who are not with us this holiday.
This is the first holiday without Grandma. Even though the last couple years she couldn't remember anything she was still here, but now she is gone. I know she is in a much better place.... but I still miss her and I'll always be thankful for the things I learned from her.
She was a very Godly lady... she served the Lord with all she had, even in her last days.
She may not have remembered me or anyone in the family, But she knew who Jesus was. Just a few weeks before she died , I forget now if she was at a church service or if the family was singing ,but she was mouthing the words to the song "how great thou art". What a wonderful testimony that is!
That's what we are living for...... we are living for Jesus and to be a testimony for him.
To proclaim how great he is!!
I hope everyone had a good thanksgiving! We are looking forward to the christmas holiday, we have much coming up that we are looking forward too! =)
Psalm 100:4
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
Psalm 107:1
O Give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
